Happy Birthday Gage!

Gage turned 11 on Wednesday. It's hard to believe he's growing up so fast. It seems like yesterday he was just starting school now he's getting ready for middle school! We gave him a new bike on his birthday but he didn't have his party until Friday. We took him and five of his friends to eat at Ci Ci's Pizza then we went to the movies and back to our house for a sleep over. Around 4am they finally fell asleep, and so did I! They got up around 8:30 the next morning ready to go again. I got up to make them pancakes and felt like I had never fallen asleep, but they had fun and I guess that's all that really matters.

Happy Easter

We had a busy but fun Easter weekend. On Saturday Griffin and I went to an Easter egg hunt with some people from our church. Then we dyed eggs Saturday night and I am happy to say that Gage still wanted to participate. He's growing up so fast and doesn't like to do all of the "little kid" things we use to do together, but he's usually a good sport and will pretend like he's having fun anyway. Gage also broke the news to me that he no longer believes in the Easter bunny, I figured he didn't but it was so devistating to hear him say it, lol. At least I get to enjoy Griffin being little for a little while. I don't know what I'm going to do when he doesn't beleieve in the Easter bunny. After church Sunday we went to Gene's mom's house for dinner and the kids hid eggs then we came home and hid eggs--again. Now I'm gonna just relax and enjoy spring break with my boys.

Baseball Practice

Once again it is time for baseball and this time we have two playing. We are still in practice mode right now so it really hasn't been too bad. The pictures are from Griffin's first practice. He is so excited to finally be playing ball like his big brother. Gage is excited for Griffin to be playing as well. He helps him practice and likes the idea of the little kids looking up to him. Gene has his hands full trying to work with both of them. I try to help but they get aggravated that I can't catch the ball and they tell me I throw like a girl--I wonder why.

My New Niece

My baby sister had a baby Friday. A healthy and beautiful little girl, Alyssa Joanne--(Joanne was our mom's name). She weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces. We traveled to Tennesse after school Thursday so I could be there with her when she went in for her induction the baby was born Feb. 29 on leap year. Jessica and baby Alyssa are doing great so far but I had to leave them Sunday and that was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. We had a good time while we were there. We went out to eat Saturday with my dad and step-mom and my brother and his girlfriend. Gage and Griffin were excited about the baby, she's their first cousin on my side of the family. They were also happy that they got to miss school Friday. They love the trip to Tennessee because they get to go through tunnels and see the mountains. The only problem is that it was such a short trip, I wish we could have spent more time there. I can't wait to go back and visit over the summer.

Benny

Griffin went to work with Gene on Monday and somehow managed to talk Gene into buying him a bunny rabbit. They called me to tell me they had a surprise at home. So, as I'm pulling into the garage there is this big cage and Griffin is holding a cute little bunny--he named him Benny. He has hardly put the poor thing down since he got it and couldn't understand why I wouldn't let him take Benny to school. Now we're working on the concept that rabbits are not house pets.

Valentine's Dance

Gage has been taking an etiquette class since August called Junior Cotillions. They had a Valentine's dance on Sunday and it was sooo cute! They have been practicing the fox-trot, cha-cha, and shag for weeks so they could do it at the dance. At the end the boys danced with their moms and the girls danced with their dads - it was very sweet.

Griffin Looses a Tooth!

Griffin lost his first tooth this weekend and had his first visit from the tooth-fairy. Now he's officially a big boy. The other picture is Griffin sneaking up on the counter to lick the brownie bowl. I was suspicious he was into something because he had been quiet for too long. When I walked in to check on him he had climbed onto the counter all by himself and was scraping his finger across the bowl. I managed to grab the camera and snap a picture before he knew I was watching.
