Away at Camp

Gage went to Look up Lodge which is a church camp in Greenville. He was gone for 4 days and we really missed him. We were worried about him getting home sick since he wasn't allowed to call home unless it was an emergency. He went last year and after the first night he was missing us. This year he had a great time and although he missed us he didn't get home sick. While he was gone we took Griffin to see Kung Fu Panda. We had fun but we felt like we were missing something the whole time Gage was gone. We're glad to have you back home Gage!

Graduations

Griffin graduated from 4K a couple of weeks ago (I know I'm a little late). It was a very cute ceremony. Griffin counted from 1-100 and cited the one vowel rule. He was nervous but he did fine. Now its time for me to get ready for another first day of school. It doesn't seem like its been that long since I dropped Gage off on his first day of kindergarten and I was just pregnant with Griffin. The other picture is from Gage's 5th grade graduation/awards day. He won the presdential award for academic achievement along with some other awards. He's going to be in middle school now and I still can't believe that!

Happy Mother's Day

I feel blessed to have spent another year with my children. It has been 14 years since I spent a mother's day with my mom and the older I get the more I realize that her knowing that she was dying and leaving three kids without their mom must have been much harder for her than it was for us, as kids, to loose her. I miss her greatly and I would give anything for her to meet the two beautiful children that I have been blessed to raise. I've been a mom for so long, its hard to remember what life was like without kids but I know there is nothing else in the world I could ever enjoy more than having two smiling faces to greet me every morning when I wake up and to kiss me every night before I go to bed. I hope to have many more years ahead to watch my little boys grow into young men. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Yard Work and Watermelon

We had another busy weekend. Gage had a baseball game Friday night, then we went to Relay for Life after that and didn't get home until almost eleven o'clock. Griffin had a game Saturday morning and Gage had practice for his traveling team. They are playing in a tournament in Florence in a couple of weeks so right now he's playing on two teams. Saturday night Gene and I got a baby sitter and went to eat at the Old Armory in Camden then we went to see Made of Honor-we had a good time. After church Sunday we spent most of the day working out in the yard then we grilled out. As you can see, we had watermelon-Griffin's favorite. The other picture is of Gage cutting the grass, now that he's learned how to operate the lawn mower that's his new chore.

Too Cute!!!

Griffin's first T-ball game was Saturday and it was so cute! When Gage started playing ball he went straight into coach's pitch so this is my first experience with T-ball. I was surprised that most of the little kids actually knew what to do out there. Of course there was some confusion but overall it went more smoothly than I expected. Griffin was so proud that he finally got to wear his uniform and he kept asking, Did I do good, mommy? after the game. They don't even keep score but it is so much fun to watch, and less stressful than watching the big boy games because they take it very seriously. Guess I should enjoy it while I can.

Carolina Cup

Gene and I went to the cup with our friends last Saturday. It started out nice then the clouds rolled in. It was nice to see a lot of people we usually don't get to see. Luckily, it didn't rain until it was time to go and then we went back to Bubba's house. As you can see, in spite of the weather, we had a lot of fun-can't wait until next year!

Happy Birthday Gage!

Gage turned 11 on Wednesday. It's hard to believe he's growing up so fast. It seems like yesterday he was just starting school now he's getting ready for middle school! We gave him a new bike on his birthday but he didn't have his party until Friday. We took him and five of his friends to eat at Ci Ci's Pizza then we went to the movies and back to our house for a sleep over. Around 4am they finally fell asleep, and so did I! They got up around 8:30 the next morning ready to go again. I got up to make them pancakes and felt like I had never fallen asleep, but they had fun and I guess that's all that really matters.
